Few would envy Leigh’s head start in life. As she described in her best-selling 2015 memoir, Call Me Sasha: Secret confessions of an Australian Callgirl, she experienced abuse as a child, became homeless at 15, endured rape and became drug and alcohol addicted, and was 'mentally imprisoned' in prostitution for almost two decades.

You’d think such a life would continue into an abyss of desperation, but Leigh refused to accept her situation and was determined to create a better fate for herself.

“I didn’t know how or when,” Leigh said, “but I did know I was going to have a happy and fulfilling life”.

Through education, therapy, self-help books, personal development seminars and relentless determination, Leigh became drug and alcohol free, forged a successful career in corporate management, earned three university degrees and has embarked on a new quest to show high school students how they can overcome adversity.

Now, Leigh is passionate about empowering young people and helping them to make better life decisions. She inspires students by speaking in schools about building personal resilience, self-worth and honouring their inner guidance (listening to their gut feeling).

Leigh recently debuted her 45-minute inspirational talk to Year 10 students at Mater Maria Catholic College in Warriewood. The teachers there said, “We didn’t hear a pin drop”, “Powerful!” and “The students who saw the talk are telling their friends about it and their friends are asking us: ‘when will we get to see Geena speak?’”

Leigh next spoke at The Forest High School in Frenchs Forest. The students were again captivated. Leigh has three further schools to visit and hopes that, "this is only the beginning!"

Leigh said, "If even only one teenager benefits from the talk and chooses to go for their dreams and make healthy, empowered decisions in life -that would be wonderful!"
